RTW kills me every time..I can only manage x amount of settlements and then I lose track. I will try using the war dogs like you do and see what happens.

I tend to leave most settlements small, mostly for pumping out cash with strategically placed "massive" cities for serious warfighting production. It makes it a bit easier. But yeah, using the dogs either in the start or at the end is pretty sadistic, but man do they rip through demoralized enemy forces!
Haven't palyed in a while now. My new addiction is Battlefield 2. Amazing game!
