Story I'm getting is that the snipers, and the 14 the next day were set up by iraqi traitors.
If that is the case, they have to find those people and deal quickly and ruthlessly with them...with all involved in any way in planning and setting it up.
That's what I heard about the snipers. The 14 Marines in the Amphtrac, otoh, appear to have been a case of poor road march routine. Apparently, Marines were using that road more often than was healthy and fell into a routine. Naturally, Haji planted a bomb in just the right spot. Haji used his head this time, and outsmarted us. WE were dumb in this case and fell into a bad habit of not screening a road march for bombs. Again, this was the analysis I heard on Imus this morning from one officer.
Of course, it helps if Haji has someone in the ING who is passing the bad guys road march information, but it might help to alter some or our route marches. Problem is, in the Haditha area, at least according to Eagle Eye, you've got one road in and out of town. Sort of takes the element of surprise away.
