I never in a million years would have thought they were in the trunk. The children were obviously not made to be afraid of playing in the trunk, so that appears to be the main problem.

I think as parents I would check and double check . When our son graduated from 6th grade,and was honored by PTA for his community service, I was told a story about the time he fell asleep under the teacher's u-shaped desk during recess and they could not find him for hours, they searched the entire school, and thought he might have walked home (6yrs old - We always drove and picked them up), they begin to panic when his older brother told them he didn't know his way home. They had entire classrooms looking for him.We were never notified and they never called the police either. He finally woke up and crawled out of the desk.
