The complaints regarding Tancredo's commments - irresponsible, dangerous, unnecessarily inflammatory - are identical to the invective hurled at Reagan for his many comments regarding the soviet union. Deep down inside I worried his detractors might be right, until we all saw the result.
Tancredo is no Reagan, but I think a comparison here is valid.
Agree. Remember when Reagan was doing a voice test the oval office, and said words to the effect, "Within a few moments our warheads will be striking Moscow".
Sure, he said it jokingly, while at the same time, his finger was never far from the nuclear trigger.
