PASADENA, Md., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement has been issued by Michael Anthony Peroutka who is: Co-Founder, "Institute On The Constitution;" Constitution Party Presidential candidate in 2004; and co-host, with "recovering Republican" John Lofton, of the nationally-syndicated "The American View" radio show which is broadcast in 37 cities in 22 states.

Friends of the Constitutional Republic:

Today is a great day!

As you know, when the 2004 Presidential Campaign came to a close, our efforts to restore our Constitutional Republic were only just beginning.

Today I am pleased to announce the introduction of our new website titled, "The American View." On this site we will continue to encourage Americans to recover, rehearse and reconnect with the "American View" of law and government. This view succinctly and eloquently expressed in the American Declaration of Independence can be summarized as follows:

    1. There is an Almighty, Everlasting, Omniscient, God -- the God of the
Bible -- Who is active in the affairs of men.

2. Our rights, including our right to life, liberty and property come from Him.

3. It is the purpose of government to secure, protect and defend these God-given rights.

This is the "American View." This is what an American believes. Adherence to this belief is what essentially makes one American.

America has departed from this view of law and liberty and government and has adopted another view. This other view is, literally, anti-American. Whether you describe this other view as socialist, secular humanist, communist or whatever, it is essentially a pagan view. This pagan understanding alternately asserts that the state is god, that man is god, or that there is no higher authority binding upon mankind other than himself.

This departure from the first principle, I believe, is at the core of the political, cultural, economic and spiritual decline in our country.

This is why we promote the "American View" through educational programs such as "Institute on the Constitution," political commentary and news dissemination. Our new website is dedicated to all these things and much more. It will regularly feature exclusive news stories, interviews and analyses you will see nowhere else. Our first front page features these headline stories:

-- "American View" Radio Shows Reveal John Roberts Pro-Abortion, No "Strict Constructionist," Man Whose Faith Unrelated To Work." On our programs you will hear the actual voice of Roberts say, in a 2003 confirmation hearing: "Roe v. Wade is the settled law of the land. It is not -- it's a little more than settled. It was reaffirmed in the face of a challenge that it should be overruled in the Casey decision. Accordingly, it's the settled law of the land. There's nothing in my personal views that would prevent me from fully and faithfully applying that precedent, as well as Casey."

-- "Jay Sekulow Says His Job To Get Bush Nominees Confirmed; But Is It? What Does God Require Of A Christian Involved In 'Politics?'" An in-depth look at Mr. Sekulow's White House/Republican Party cheerleading instead of doing what he should be doing -- pressing a Biblical/Christian agenda.

-- "Robertson/Sekulow Telemarketer Says, Falsely, John Roberts Against Partial-Birth Abortion, Homosexual Marriage; 'ACLJ' Spokesman Says Statement 'Not Authorized.'"

-- "President's Shut Up/Drop Dead Rebuke Of Christian Conservatives On Gonzales/Abortion Issue Demonstrates He Is Not Pro-Life."

-- "False Story By Ertelt's LifeNews.com -- Repeated By 'World' Magazine -- Misled Christians To Think Bush Naming Pro-Life Judges."

-- "Exclusive Interview: Newt Gingrich On Abortion, Homosexuality, Biblical Government; Rejects 'Narrow' View Of Our Founders."

-- "John Lofton, Recovering Republican: How, By God's Grace, He Put Away Childish Things, Was Raptured From The GOP And Made A Man Who Joined The Constitution Party."

-- "How Mario Cuomo's Anti-Christian Worship Of Science Once Led To Medical Atrocities Committed By The Nazis."

-- "Bush's Advocacy Of 'Civil Unions' For Homosexuals Shows Fights Over GOP Platform A Big Waste Of Time."

-- Another Exclusive Interview: "Mexican Embassy Spokesman Confirms His Country Doing Zero, Zip, Nada To Stop Illegal Immigration Invasion Of Our Country."

-- "Humane Treatment At Guantanamo Does Not Mean Giving Korans To Those Who Want To Murder Us!"

-- "Dr. Phil" On 'Meet The Press'; What In The World Was Host Tim Russert Thinking?"

Our new Web site also has these permanent features:

-- "ARGHHS! From the Abyss;" short, pithy items that may be hazardous to your mental health if you believe the word "Republican" is, necessarily, synonymous with "Christian" and/or "conservative."

-- Our "American View" weekly radio show which I co-host with "recovering Republican" John Lofton. We are syndicated by "Radio America" and are now broadcast in 37 cities in 22 states.

-- "Weblogs" by myself, John Lofton, Editor, and Scott Whiteman, our Managing Editor.

-- The "AMVIEW Forum" where you can communicate with us and others participating in this "Forum."

-- "Poetry." If you have favorite poems that fit our themes, please send them to us.

-- "Resources." We will, at some point, link to other Web sites. But, we're being very careful in choosing such links because we take seriously who we refer you to.

-- "Political Cartoons."

-- "Books/Movies Etc." Here we will comment on and/or recommend/review books, movies, etc. Suggestions appreciated.

-- "Speakers Bureau." Editor John Lofton, Managing Editor Scott Whiteman, and I are all available to speak. We all have topics we can address, or we may be able to speak on a topic you suggest.

-- "Peroutka 2004." My Constitution Party Presidential campaign site archive much of which is also available on this new page.

You guys will do all the good you did for our side when you hitched up with Perot.

You undermine any effort for us to make progress....

....but you can be smug and sit in your little corner while Bill Clintons are elected....

Thank God for George W. Bush!!! A real man!!! (not these whining wimps)

The title for this article is awful, but did you even read it? The article itself is not that bad, but he author did a very poor job of coming up with an appropriate and descriptive title.

What the "hay" are you talking about: I read the posted material: the title, which is 'TheAmericanView.com' Web Site Is Now Live!I have no problem with that. It is the goofy crap after the title, like the one I quoted in my last post, that have me convinced these folks are kooks, sorry.

I'm sorry, I take it I was actually supposed to go to the site and read the stuff before making an opinion. Well maybe I will, while I digest large volumes of info daily, I always try to leave room for some of the fringe stuff.

I've read a lot of the site. These men are very extremely conservative, so much so that it shocks the contemporary brainwashed mind of even very conservative FReepers. But perhaps that's a good thing: to shock us back into line. What they are avid about is the true meaning of the Constitution, and what conforms and what differs from that.

Peroutka is established here in Maryland as a radical Constitutionalist. He brought Judge Roy Moore here for a speech and I have never heard such sustained, heartfelt, throaty roars from a crowd except at the mass convocations of Pope John Paul 2 in the 70s-80s -- or the Rolling Stones in an arena! Peroutka helped establish an independent instructional school of the Constitution, and I've been fortunate to meet some of its principals, including the director, Maryland Delegate Don Dwyer. The amazing thing is, once a person really, really knows the Constitution inside out, it gives amazing intellectual and debating power to those in government and public life. Because it is what it is, not what the Democrats wish it were.

That's not to say I have no reservations about the anti-Bush rhetoric; I'm pragmatic by nature and recognize that we have to make compromises, as the Founders did, from time to time in order to move things forward. A woman in the company of these manly Constitutional men can feel that her opinions are somewhat devalued (I'd love to see a meeting between, for instance, Peroutka and Coulter -- fireworks!). However, the shock value of the Constitutional purist is worth its weight in gold.

To me, the following interview between the site's co-founder, John Lofton, and the renowned Newt Gingrich, is the best thing on the site:

Any bets on the 2008 GOP nominee? Mr. Frist seems to have lost it.

Let's reconsider Newt for awhile....
Santorum seems to be putting himself forward...
Did Giuliani blow it completely by nominating his business partner, a thug, to be Homeland Security chief?
John Cornyn of Texas is often admired; is he Presidential?...
How about Condi? The next two years will tell...
Can Mark Steyn be naturalized in time?

If we get another vistit by Ahkmed, Tom Tancredo could surprise . .

Yeah... but that has nothing to do with "party over principle" or dumbing down the electorate with a "lesser of two evils" philosophy and, therefore, will not play among the majority of "conservatives." < /sarcasm>
