It's been in use since the 70's. The diet is going nowhere. It works, but the gimmicky processed foods they tried to sell were a horrible idea. Most people only heard about it when low-carb became mainstream, but Atkins had been preaching it (and selling his diet books) for decades.

Been on the diet,it works and I never bought any Atkins food because it wasn't necessary to the diet.

Which part of my losing over 50 pounds, being taken off my diabetes medication, and controlling my blood sugar on the Atkins Diet for close to two years is a fad, exactly?
