You also get a few knuckleheads who have to question everything... I suppose the crew kept everyone calm, instructed the passengers on what to do, and the passengers complied.

Hmmm. You have a point. I wonder what a planeful of independent-minded Americans would have done.

LOL Actually, I'm sorry to say that Americans would probably be the ones who would cause trouble, rather than follow orders. I know that from personal experience...I've been on more than a few flights with my fellow countrymen, and it seems there is almost always at least one bonehead passenger in the bunch.

I heard yesterday that the crew and passengers of that plane exited in something like two minutes. That's pretty good for 300+ people.

TORONTO - The Air France jet that crashed earlier this week appeared to have landed too far down the runway, which may have contributed to it skidding off its path and into a ravine before bursting into flames, investigators said Friday.

All 309 people on board survived.

Investigators said it was too soon to determine whether the long landing, combined with torrential rains and gusting winds, was to blame for the crash.

"We do have some information that the aircraft did land long," the chief investigator for Canada's Transportation Safety Board, Real Levasseur, told a news briefing.

One thing to consider: at YYZ the runways are NOT grooved and have no porous friction overlay. They do not drain easily. Water tends to pool, which can easily lead to hydroplaning. If the aircraft was hit by lightning or suffered some sort of electrical failure just prior to landing, as many witnesses claimed, the anti-skid system may have been disabled.

New information on evacuation. The French pilot on the Air France aircraft only said five words on the intercom after the aircraft came to rest. "Run the Germans are coming".

The plane was cleared in seconds.

You newbies know nothing about the history of plane 'crashes'.

You seem to be obsessed with "newbies," Silas. Fancy yourself hot sh/t for being from the class of '97?
