Eyewitness:
Reports aircraft on approach, landing, lightining in area, hit the runway, engines sounded as though they reversed, and the aircraft went towards the end of runway, into a ditch and broke in half.
Witness on CNN says the plane broke in half when it went into the ravine.
Eyewitness: plane on landing looked too high and suddenly dropped dramatically, bursting tires; people with injuries began to emerge from plane as soon as it came to stop

Eyewitness saying lighting strike on runway.

Thanks for the synopsis/details....Just heard about it on radio as I drove into driveway.
60 is a lot fewer than the "all" reported earlier. Hope the earlier report is correct, but in looking at those pictures I find it almost impossible to imagine that everyone escaped alive.
CTV: "Passengers were actually on Highway 401, where motorists stopped to help..."
Aircraft broke completely in half per witnesses.

Microburst?
Guy on news feed said the plane landed first and was then struck by lightening.
CTV: One witness says that lightning actually struck the runway.
I think the bush's in the ravine helped to cusion the shock of the crash
Still visible flames, black, white/gray smoke, and secondary fuel explosions going off.
