Police: Truck Driver In Fatal Avon Wreck Had Criminal Past
Police believe the driver of the dump truck that caused a fiery chain-reaction crash in Avon had his license suspended for several months last year and had numerous brushes with the law.
Authorities on Tuesday tentatively identified Abdulraheem Naafi, 41, as one of four people who died in the accident.
Naafi also went by the name Terrance R. Stokes and his most recent address appears to be a homeless shelter in Stamford, police said...
The identification is pending verification by the chief medical examiner's office, said Avon police Capt. Mark Rinaldo. Police were still trying to contact Naafi's family on Tuesday.
