But it is a different placeunlike the US on many different levels. That's what is so difficult, I think, hummingbird. Getting at just what kind of guy we're dealing with in Joran, and what kind of society we are dealing with in Aruba (tourist attractions aside).
Well put. Maybe that's why some of us get so frustrated so quickly. Aruba is truly "unlike the US on many different levels." If there were only slight differences, it would be more understandable but with so many layers, it is easy, at least for me, to make presumptions that might take the investigation way off course.
One of the best mental exercises is to debate someone about something you feel very strongly about...only you have to take the opposing side and fight with everything you have to win. I cannot even "see" the other side with respect to what is happening in Aruba...I'm totally stumped.
If I was a 'profiler,' I think I would be afraid of this case...finding and getting into the mindset is not a place I'd want to go.

And the hazard is that people who investigate things like this don't know they've tapped into a hornets nest until the hornets start swarming out. I guess it goes with the territory. Wouldn't want to be in their shoes, but I can certainly admire their couragewhether they are prepared for the "swarming" or not . . . .
