Even most North Carolinian's would agree that Ashville is "out there" .. I'm sure you can find those pockets in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi too.. it's an "artsy fartsy" place... somewhere I've read whole discussions regarding Ashville and it's "nature"...

I think of Ashville and Zelda Fitzgerald almost at the same time.

Louisiana is odd, sort of southern, sort of caribbean, sort of just, well, odd.

Well I can certainly say there ain't enough tea in China to make me live in that town again. Six weeks...I was back home. 'Out there' is a mild description.
