A lot of people forget that Natalee was a very well traveled young woman before going to Aruba, according to her family early on, including Europe. I don't think she was all that naive. Maybe not a routine party girl, but probably a very normal young adult.
What in the world is so odd about a girl falling for someone on a summer vacation on a tropical island?! Seems very normal to me. I think she and Joran had an attraction for each other prior to her missing, but after that -- who knows?
I also don't think the students stayed in their own rooms throughout the week, youthful human nature being what it is.
Smart post Varina.
Well, cheese and crackers, some sanity has begun to peek through the flying fur on this this thread. My cat (Freckles) and I have been fighting all day over the issue of moral rectitude and party drugs (Freckles taking the cat-eye view and me, well, taking the drugs --catnip-- and feeling most rectitudinous).
We do love poor Nat...and Beth, of course. I hope this evil is more profound than a simple OD on a date rape drug. I even hope that Nat is still alive in an oxegenated cellar beneath some abandoned hotel...addicted or not (gang raped or not).
Oh Nat, we do love you, little girl. Aruba...give her up. "We can fix her up." (That is the most chilling request Beth has supposedly made..."we can fix her up...").
What the heck does that mean!. Anyway, just a summary of my sad thoughts. DS
