Baptist leaders urged Christians to fight terrorism with dinner conversation, a press statement from the BWA read. Terrorism will wane when believers reach out to disenfranchised individuals in a spirit of love and peace
Meanwhile, another top Congress speaker, Tony Campolo, told attendants that young people have the primary responsibility to step-up in the battle against terror, since those drawn to terrorist networks are often times disenfranchised youth.
Therefore, he said, Christian youth should reach out over pizza to those who feel isolated

"Accordingly, Jimmy Carter. . said all major faiths Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism and Islam hold to basic tenents of peace, justice, hospitality, truth and alleviation of suffering. Therefore, he said, If we concentrate on those things, that would make the united front against terrorism more effective."
Right, Jimmy. Just get your dhimmi tax ready, and put Rosalyn in a chador, and we'll all get along just fine. . .

The SBC left the BWA last year - so this BWA meeting represents precious few US Baptists.

Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., and author of the Purpose Driven Life, also weighed-in on the terrorism debate.
[Terrorism] shows there is evil in the world, he said, noting that some still refuse to believe evil exists. Once we understand terrorism as a battle against evil, terrorism can be stopped.
I do not believe you can pacify evil, he said. I do not believe you negotiate with it.
Here is someone who gets it.

They may be onto something here. If Carter and Campolo could just sit down with the terrorists and speak with them for an hour or two or three or four, the terrorists would throw up their hands in despair and leave us alone. But then Amnesty International would label that cruel and inhuman. Never mind.

So typical of Carter and his ilk. If he's so convinced, why doesn't he just go to Iraq, Syria and seek out these terrorists? Naw, it's much easier to wax idiotic, bash Bush and the war. What a total waste he(Carter)is.

Yes, a nice large Canadian Bacon ought to do the trick. Hopefully the splodeydopes won't add your human flesh as a topping.

Every insane idea has a grain of sense in it. We had a former Muslim speak at our church this weekend. He said that if you want to defeat Radical Islam, you have to reach out to Muslims in general, with the purpose of guiding them to Christ. He said that once Muslims see the loving family structure and the forgiving nature of the Lord, they naturally start to become less hostile and many convert to Christianity.
Thanks to Satellite TV and cheap phone cards, his ministry is converting Iranians by the thousands. You really want to beat terrorism? Find a church reaching out in the Middle East and support them by all means possible.

I agree with you and it is indeed the way to go as far as converting them to Chrisianity. Maybe I misread or took the original post wrong. I thought they were referring to the terrorists themselves. I must apologize for that.
