What grade did this ELEMNTARY school pervert teach and for HOW LONG?

Does he have tenure? Is this the only way to eliminate tenure?

Not sure. It was K-6 elementary. And it is the school my kids would have attended as kids, had they not gone to Catholic school.

I did a Zaba Search on the guy and it says he lives in West Linn, just down the road.

I agree that if this man is guilty (and I assume he is) that he should receive the harshest punishment. However, your attempt at linking this with "tenure" doesn't cut it. What you call "tenure," is actually due process. Most employees are only required to complete a 90 or 180 trial period, during which they can be fired for any reason or no reason. Teachers must endure a three year trial period, during which their employer may decline to renew their contract for any reason or no reason.

Once a teacher has taught for three years, then in order for the school system to decline to renew his or her contract, the supervisor (principal) must have documented evidence of the failure of the teacher to do the job for which he or she was hired, evidence of insubordination, or of a violation of law or policy.

There are steps that a principal may take in order to fire such a teacher, and the teacher has the right to appeal. The appeal does not automatically allow the teacher to keep his or her job. It merely ensures a fair hearing in which the principal must give just cause for the dismissal. If the principal provides proper evidence, such as unsatisfactory performance evaluations, documented evidence of insubordination, or violation of law or policy, then the teacher will be dismissed. It is not a lifetime guarantee of employment regardless of the circumstances surrounding the teacher's job performance.

If a teacher is found to have facilitated or participated in the sexual abuse of a student or other child, tenure does not protect him or her from prosecution or dismissal. You are attempting to use this example as a reason that "tenure" should be abolished. The two are not related.
