"This bill is built on a corrupt foundation of lies that will leave a legacy of pain and suffering."

I guess the lie on their part of blood in the streets with the sunset of the Assault Weapons Ban doesn't count.

"Today's vote is a go-ahead by the U.S. Senate for a reckless, cynical, unregulated industry to sell their increasingly lethal products at tremendous cost to the general public."

Reckless and UNREGULATED? I guess the BATF has been put out of business. Try and purchase a weapon without a background check at and guns shop.

It amazes me these folks (VPC) are still in business. I wonder how many tried to purchase in the days following 9-11.

Typical from VPC, there's a lie in basically every sentence. I'll just pick on one:

They claimed that the gun industry is the most heavily regulated industry in America when, in fact, they are one of only two industries exempt from federal health and safety regulation.

Then again, it's one of only one industry in the United States where they can only sell to federally licensed dealers, and every transaction from those dealers requires permission from the federal government in order to proceed with the transaction.

Nope, not regulated at all. Why, teddy bears are more regulated than guns are!!!!!
