Grass roots group for Hillary unveils TV ads

CONCORD, N.H.(AP) _ A grass roots group is unveiling a TV campaign in support of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton for president. Bob Kunst of Miami Beach, Fla., heads the group, Hillary Now!, which hopes to lay the foundation for Clinton's possible bid for the presidency in 2008.

Clinton has said she is concentrating on her re-election to the Senate next year and has not openly declared ambitions for the presidency, though she is perennially mentioned as a contender.

The animated commercial shows Clinton driving a garbage truck labeled "Bush's Mess." Clinton empties trash cans labeled "Iraq," "War on Terror," "Health Care" and "Budget" while a giggling President Bush hides on the White House lawn.

But only night owls will see the ads. They will run on cable news from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. starting Tuesday through Thursday in Concord, Manchester, Portsmouth, Nashua and Salem.

I thought this was the summer of 05. Apparently we skipped a mid-term election and a couple more years. Wake me up in the summer of 08.

Hillary Clinton will never be President. You confuse wide spread Dinosaur Media support for wide spread popular support.

Bob Kunst is one of America's leading Activists for civil and human rights. He's also an international anti-Nazi activist and Pioneer of Social Change. At 59 Kunst, a native of Miami Beach, has led a lifetime of activism and done over 23,000 news interviews.

1976-1980: Kunst co-authored, with Dr. Alan Rockway, the world-famous 'affectional and sexual preference' ordinance. Anita Bryant and Jerry Falwell opposed this ordinance. It was the major turning point in the Gay/Bisexual movement, making "gay" a household word, bringing millions out of the closet.

1980-2001: Kunst is President of Oral Majority, as part of the above extension and oppostion to Falwell's Moral Majority. With Jonathan Susskind and Dr. Alan Rockway, they took their Privacy victory to 25 states in a 3 month cross-country trip with 1000 media.

1982: Kunst runs for Gov. against Bob Graham who wanted to spray Paraquat poison on Marijuana. Kunst got 75,000 Democrats to say: "Don't kill people to regulate their behavior".

1985-1991: Kunst's first protest on an International Aids funding at Reagan/Gorbachev Summit in Geneva, Switzerland('85). Many other protests done at WHO, and Presidential Aids Summits all over the world through 1991, where Kunst was the leading experts on managing Aids Care and feeding 2000 Aids Clients. His Cure Aids Now agency was recognized by the President's Comission on Aids and was in a documentary by Peter Jennings.

1986: Kunst ran for US Senate against Bob Graham, who refused to fund any Aids monies.

Kunst would hand the Pope a "Curate La Cida Ahora" button in the Vatican in 1989. He accused them of being the biggest spreader of Aids with their 'Gay-bashing politics' that had nothing to do with multiple viruses, mutations, care or treatment.

1998: Kunst and Oral Majority did 50 protests events to "Impeach The GOP" against the Right Wing attack on Clinton, re: Monica Lewinsky. This included 10 times at the White House, Times Square and a host of cities. They roduced 12,000 stickers/buttons: "Impeach The GOP".

1997-98: Oral Majority campaigns against Cayman Islands attack upon Gays, where Gay cruises were denied at port. He also led campaingns against the anti-gay referendum in Maine and boycott, the GOP attack upon gays and led 3 memorials for Matthew Sheppard, murdered for being gay.

2000: Kunst and Oral Majority lead "No More Bushit" campaign at both political conventions in Philadelphia at the Liberty Bell and at the Democratic Convention in L.A.

2000-2001: From Nov. 7, 2000, Election Stolen Day, through to Sept. 10, 2001,Oral Majority and Kunst have done 169 protests and events that "Gore Won, Bush Stole The Election, Democrats covered up and gave it away." This includes Janet Reno, as Attorney General, keeping her mouth shut about all of it. This has been done in 37 cities with over 700 media, including aerial banners stating "Bush Stole Election:

Oral Majority did the 'freedom ride' from Miami to D.C. with stops in Tallahasee, at the Governor's mansion, at the Florida Supreme Court, at the Florida Legislature, at the llth District Court in Atlanta, and at Jerry Falwell's headquarters in Lynchburg. And, they were the first group all the GOP and Bush/Cheney had to go through at the Coronation in D.C.

Kunst has done 175 media reports with Jack Nichols of gaytoday.badpuppy.com, documenting this impact. He is writing a book about his activities, as well as a video.

He thanks the many participants and American Patriots who never gave up to these thieves, which has led to protests against Bushit everywhere he has gone, though not reported by the media.

"Clinton empties trash cans labeled "Iraq," "War on Terror," "Health Care" and "Budget".

Are the Democrats seriously going to portray Clinton "DUMPING" these things? Sounds like a dangerous stance to take in my book.

He is a LUNATIC. I'm not sure HILLARY will even want to get involved with him. lol!

Dear Hillary:

Today is Freedom of Information Day. The current administration and the "right wing" are opposed to Government in the Sunshine and are doing everything possible to undermine the U.S. and State constitutions. Thus, it's imperative that I share this lengthy statement with you on "Gay Marriage."

snip

In an AP story on March 15, 2004, A.P. you were quoted as saying that states should decide the contentious issue of whether gays should be allowed to get married. Since when do state's rights matter more than our constitutional federal rights?

Would you apply this standard to the right of a woman to choose an abortion? What if most of the states wanted to ban this right?

snip

For you to embrace this position is both immoral, and undemocratic and will come back to haunt you on all levels.

We need to embrace the U.S. constitution and not leave the potential for discrimination to each state.

snip

As a leading gay activist, and Jewish activist who has been fighting Nazis all of my life (I have been to 31 Holocaust death camps. See Shalom International), I must raise some very critical issues here as well.

For Gays and Lesbians who want to get married, let them. But our movement has been high jacked by this very limited group within our own community. All other issues of discrimination and neglect we have suffered from, including an Aids Genocide that has cost us over 500,000 of our brothers out there, is lost in this debate on 'gay marriage', pushed by Andrew Sullivan and his cronies. However, now that the gauntlet has been thrown down, it's become an all or nothing story here. I'm not sure that those pushing 'gay marriage' have a clue as to what they have done or are doing on this matter.

snip

Daily, I have had to defend your lifestyle with Bill and why you didn't throw him out of the house altogether. But love is stronger than anyone else's politics, and it is your business and no one else's.

So this advice is to ask you to reconsider your positions on all of this. Support those who love as consenting adults, no matter who wants to get married. Support all who don't want to get married or even to have children

snip

I plead that you reconsider your position on 'Gay marriage', for it is the moral and American thing to do and the Democratic position we must take.

Feeding the right wing that is already against you makes absolutely no sense.

I deeply believe you can be a spiritual light for this nation and planet. We need a leader who understands that the right wing's secrecy and dictatorship politics are so dangerous. It's the Patriot Act, and Howard Stern being taken off the airwaves and the insanity surrounding Janet Jackson's bared breast. We are all under attack. It's Martha Stewart getting hanged by standards not being applied to Ken Lay of Enron.

I ran for Governor of Florida, demanding a federal investigation of the 2000 election, (see:www.floridafightsback.com on our resistance movement). I got over 42,000 votes on a $17,000 budget, while being ignored by the media and not allowed into the debates. I led 650 protests nationally and did 1000 media demanding justice and trying to prevent the next theft in 2004

snip

This is our condition for further support.

Hopefully, you'll fully understand and see us as a valid ally, with the expertise and experience to make this a reality.

Would you consider doing a fundraiser with us in Boston at the National Democratic Party in July, where we can do a re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party?

In MA marriage licenses will be issued on May 17, 2004, to gays and lesbians who want them.
This is also the date of the NY State Democratic Convention in NYC.

We have lots of opportunity here as well to plan strategy.

Whether it's "Hillary for Veep in '04" or "President in '08," the issues above are the foundation for positive change in America.

I will be leading a rally on 3/25/04, 5 P.M. at the National Bldg. Museum at 13th and E St., N.W., in Washington, D.C. when Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter will be at a DNC dinner.

Come join with us. Let's unite on the inevitable. Please respond to me immediately so that I may include this to the media.

Yours Faithfully,
Bob Kunst

Bob Kunst in late 1976

was acting as a moderator from his government-funded organization, The Transperience Center in Coconut Grove, an organization he and psychologist Rockway had used to spread enlightened sexual/psychological messages. Transperience stood for empathy, he explained, "It's the 'I am You' consciousness."

1985, when Bob Kunst founded Florida's CURE AIDS NOW, which Peter Jennings' AIDS Quarterly called "the most effective grass roots AIDS organization in the state third hardest hit".

Bob Kunst applied this same approach to AIDS. He called AIDS "World War III". He knew that groceries could be delivered to endless lines of people with AIDS, but that until social service providers became willing to make politicians suffer for 1980s inattention to the pandemic, little would change.

just prior to 1991, Kunst mobilized support and critiqued politicians and the pope in major publications, including Time magazine and The New York Times. Therein, after attending the Vatican's AIDS conference he was quoted in both publications saying: "This is the worst AIDS conference I ever attended, its been three long days of gay bashing."

When the pope went to Miami in 1989, "his Holiness" evaded a reporter's question: "Is AIDS God's judgment against homosexuals?" by replying, "It is not easy to know God's intentions." The pope could, in a compassionate and civilized fashion, have laid the entire matter to rest by saying, "No, such an idea runs contrary to the kind of God I worship." But such was not the case. The same day the Vatican newspaper called AIDS "nature's sanction," against immorality, CNN showed Bob Kunst suggesting that the pope "shape up or ship out" of Miami. In fact, nature hastened "his Holiness's" departure, flooding his outdoor mass with an unparalleled downpour.

Kunst has been organizing pickets and demonstrations for over a quarter century. He has always prided himself on good relations wit the police, often telling them in advance of his arrivals, conducting himself properly by their standards, to say the least. "I may be opinionated," he told GayToday, "but I'm not stupid."

Standing alone by a fountain wall with fundamentalist Christian activists surrounding him, Kunst held a sign that read, "Christian Reich." He also wore a tee-shirt that said, "Throw the Bigots Out." Standing next to him was a police officer who seemed to share the fervor of the Christians and who told him to leave the vicinity of the fountain. "Why, he asked, if these others can stay?" The officer, he explains, "was infuriated by my picket sign," and when Kunst questioned his being singled out for abuse, pushed him and then arrested him.

"I said talk to me, but don't push," he recalls, at which point the officer grabbed and ripped his shirt. Three other officers joined in, also ripping his pants and poster.

"The handcuffs were on so tight that I still have marks on my wrists days later."

Bob Kunst has always believed that support for gay rights comes from everywhere, especially heterosexuals and bisexuals who know that old-fashioned sodomy laws affect them as well as gay men and lesbians.

June 21, 2005--Bob Kunst, founder of HillaryNow.com, speaks to WMRNews reporter Joel Wishengrad outside the Brookings Institution, where Sen. Joe Biden had just delivered a speech on Iraq. Kunst said he received nine favorable responses to the idea of a Clinton/Biden ticket, six who preferred Biden/Clinton, and one against both of them.

Kunst, of Miami Beach, Florida, launched the HillaryNow.com website in August 2003, and was a familar sight on the 2004 campaign trail, promoting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as the Democrats' best presidential prospect and selling his bumperstickers and buttons outside events around the country.

He said the tone of critics of Sen. Clinton is much softer in recent months than it had been in the previous two years. Before, he said, some of the comments he received were "vicious." A new book, The Truth About Hillary by Edward Klein (Sentinel, June 2005), presents an unflattering portrait of the former First Lady and has generated considerable discussion recently. Asked about the controversies that have at times surrounded the New York Senator, Kunst said his approach is "accept the controversy and use it as a positive, not a negative." The Democratic party, Kunst said, has been "afraid to handle controversy" and needs to "go on the offense." Kunst said he is going to write a book titled "Hillary Haters and How She Wins the 2008 Election" to rebut the arguments that the New York Senator cannot be elected president.
