My phrase "tend to remain" accommodates just your point: that there are exceptions. If my respect for Judaism and Jewish culture unsettles you, take a look at Commentary magazine over the last twenty years. The flagship publication of the American Jewish Committee routinely publishes articles defending Christianity and the Catholic Church, and is even at times sympathetic to prayer in public schools. On the whole, it is better stuff than one so often finds in mainline and liberal Christian publications.
