There are regulars at DU that want the US to fail at liberating Iraq and the old regime to be back in power. You don't have to be registered to go read some of the ridiculousness at that site.

When you hear these terrorists called 'freedom fighters,' you can kind of guess that the individual using the term is rooting for the terrorists. I'm not refering to DU, since I'm not registered there. But I've heard and read the aforementioned more than once.

Without registering, I can't search or look in the archives, but I do read posts over there everyday.

A few months ago, they had a post debating whether they should be rooting for a victory by the "Iraqi people" over the "invading force."

Most felt that a victory by the insurgents would be useful in giving the US a blackeye and reassuring the world that US might could be defeated.

Most thought the worst possible outcome of the Iraqi war would be any outcome that allowed the US to declare it a successful endeavor.

Of course, it wasn't their own heads that they were recommending for beheading.
