It seems particularly absurd to me that you would say this on a thread that clearly shows that something is being done about it.

It sure seems to me that you are quite appeased that they can do a little "window dressing" as far as immigration enforcement is concerned. People that have been living with the problem for years realize that this is simply appeasement of the anti-immigrant crowd. In the time of their investigation and the carrying out of this raid, another 1,000 have likely invaded our cities. It may be a good start, but it's been long in coming and not likely to bear many results.

Presumably you believe that II can be removed by waving a Magic Wand. Unfortunately it is an extremely complex and difficult problem and will take decades to resolve. But before ANY actions are effective the Cities which harbor Illegals and refuse to cooperate with Immigration authorities must have new leadership.

As long as people are desperate for work in Latin America they will come here for that work. That is the Long and Short of it no matter what we might wish and hope for. It should also be recalled that this is a new phenomenon never a concern during the first century and a half of our existence. Formerly we encouraged newcomers without much regard to their legality.

It is not one of the biggest problems we face no matter what one would believe from reading items on FR.

Who caused it?

And two raids in two months is like p**sing in the ocean to warm it up. Get the miliatry involved. National sovreignty is what they are for.

But before ANY actions are effective the Cities which harbor Illegals and refuse to cooperate with Immigration authorities must have new leadership.

Agreed 110%

As long as people are desperate for work in Latin America they will come here for that work

We aren't desperate for it. Those who want below market labor are desperate for it.

That is the Long and Short of it no matter what we might wish and hope for. It should also be recalled that this is a new phenomenon never a concern during the first century and a half of our existence. Formerly we encouraged newcomers without much regard to their legality.

Countries grow. Borders grow. Things change.

It is not one of the biggest problems we face no matter what one would believe from reading items on FR.

I disagree, it hurts American citiens on many, many different levels. From crime to finances to healtchare to schools.

The problem is caused by the inability of Mexico to provide a growing economy. It's culture and government "caused" it.

We don't have the military to stop it. It is delusional to believe we do. Raids are only a beginning but I doubt any action would meet with your approval.

Americans are the sustaining force here since we are the ones hiring the Illegals.

The fact that it harms some cities and counties does not mean that it is one of our most important problems. Taming the street gangs (domestic terrorists) is FAR more important just for starters. The DemocRAT Party is our biggest national problem BY FAR.

My solution is civilian volunteers along the border coupled with an incentive program rewarding those who turn in Illegals.

The military, coupled with a "real" fence, will do wonders to stop the flow. Our military is not incompetent. Heck, the fench alone would slow it down greatly.

Raids are only a beginning but I doubt any action would meet with your approval.

The above would meet with my approval. Coupled with a raid a day. It aint hard. I could presonally point them to 500 illegals on a daily basis.

Americans are the sustaining force here since we are the ones hiring the Illegals.

Not me, amigo. Some American's like kiddie porn, but not me. The Americans who sustain this are criminal Americans.

The fact that it harms some cities and counties does not mean that it is one of our most important problems.

And harms people, and families, and infrastructures, and public assistance. You name the area, it effects it.

I don't know where this ranks as a problem for you, but it is up there for me.

My solution is civilian volunteers along the border coupled with an incentive program rewarding those who turn in Illegals.

Shouldn't be necessary. That is what we pay 50% of our wages in taxes for.
