Bush Bashing Fizzles
US NEWS.COM ^ | Michael Barone

Posted on 08/01/2005 9:35:05 AM PDT by mordo

This summer, one big story is replaced by another--the London bombings July 7, the speculation that Karl Rove illegally named a covert CIA agent, the nomination of John Roberts to the Supreme Court, more London bombings last week. But beneath the hubbub, we can see the playing out of another, less reported story: the collapse of the attempts by liberal Democrats and their sympathizers in the mainstream media--the New York Times, etc., etc.--to delegitimize yet another Republican administration.

Thanks, Mike. I agree with your comparison.

My recollection is the Eastern establishment and reporters made fun of the Gettysburg Address as some kind of rube oratory, inadequate by comparison to the keynote speech, which was full of rhetorical flourishes but had little substance. And who is remembered today??

OK, the Union seized what was left of Atlanta - and had the world's biggest marshmallow roast.

BTW, Liberty Valance was a really good movie.

In other news, party leader Dean complains that "Bush's Right Wing Supreme Court" voted in favor of Eminent Domain ruling.

Indeed. You cannot go wrong in a movie with John Wayne, Lee Marvin AND James Stewart. Hollywood hasn't been the same since. :o)

Lemming
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Lemmings are small rodents, usually found in or near the Arctic.
Also; a variety of political analyst who believes that slandering and demeaning a naturally likable person such as Ronald Reagan or George Bush, combined with undermining the nation's military in time of war is a winning political strategy.

For a very interesting perspective, click on the link to Yahoo.com (Barone's article--beginning of this thread) and scroll down to the bottom. Click the "discussion" link. The leftist libs are trying to skewer Barone for this article. They actually believe that the MSM is controlled by conservatives, that of course BUSH LIED®, Wilson is a hero, and Saddam never tried to get yeoolw cake or any other component of a WMD. They're asking conservative to come debate them with actual points. I'm going in! Hold my coat, this'll be fun!

People compare Bush's numbers to Clinton's - but Bush is facing many serious issues, and is NOT kicking the can down the road as Clinton did.

LibDem playbook is to retain and foster the problem and never have a solution for any problem. Keep: Sosh-i-curity, affirmative action, always press minimum wage, bash away at 'job loss' even though we are statistically at full employment...the list goes on.

Fostering the idea that people need the Democrats to take care of them. I know what you mean.

If that doesn't describe Clinton and Kerry's everyday speech I don't know what does. Talking to hear yourselves talk and impressing everyone with what you don't know.
