It looks like Nelson and Vocino have been
locking horns
crossing swords
disagreeing in print for a long time. On a different note, here's a pic of Mr. Nelson.

and Mr. Vocino:

from http://www.uri.edu/library/techserv/michaelvocinopage.htm
where he lists himself as: michael vocino, ph.d. Collection Management Officer and shows courses in Film, not Political Science.

That Vocino is a first class idiot. He deserves to have his *** whipped but I supposed he would enjoy it.

I would have walked out of that class after the first minute of the first day, straight to the registrar's office, and transferred to another class.
If I needed that particular class for my major, I would inquire whether a different professor taught it, and if not, I would have a conversation with the department chair.
Luckily I never found myself in any classes like this one, I was a Chemistry major, but even I had to take a history or poly sci class every now and then.
I give this kid credit for sticking it out but it seems like he caused himself a lot of grief by sticking around.

Since the professor wasn't teaching what was advertised in the catalog, the students were being ripped off. Furthermore the actions of the professor were blatant sexual harassment. Why didn't the author of this piece complain to the the political science department or to the University of Rhode Island or switch to another course?
To: Kokojmudd
when michael vocino asked the student if he was queer, the student should have looked up and smiled and said,no,just real sue happy.....

I know a young lady that spent one year in a Rhode Island college. Being that she was a USMC brat, that one year was enough for her to chop off her hair and join a service academy. She's not butch, but she ain't no whimpy leftist liberal. Rhode Island education was such a souring experience that she shift way right just to save her sanity.
Is there any word stronger than "staunch" to describe her conservative attitude? Probably not. Pat Robertson would tell her to "lighten up" she's that hard corps.

"sexual harassment"
Exactly. Students should use video cameras and take these universities to court. If police officer and military members (and gee, anybody else in society) have to toe the line, then all forms of authority must obey. If this professor were an athletic coach, he'd be in jail.

Professor Vocino often singled me out to explain why I would want to refrain from engaging in fucking until I was married. I would always respond that I wished to refrain from sex and/or sexual intimacy until marriage because such relations were Gods gift to marriage. My explanations were always received by Professor Vocino with a derogatory smile. Since students are known to be a little adventurous, Professor Vocino would always spend the first portion of class on Mondays attempting to find out what we did over the weekend. The conversation would be spent on drinking habits, drug habits, and of course, fucking habits. It was almost like clock work that I would be expected to explain what I did over the weekend, and why I did not want to drink heavily and use drugs. This would usually spark up another debate within the class, often resulting in the conclusion that I need to live a little.
This is what I mean when I say intolerance from the gay community, and in this case Michael Vocino, who saw nothing wrong with his comments bordering on harassment, and the ethical and professional principle underlying those comments. Their tolerance for me, but not for thee mentality is a definite factor permeating the peaceful coexistence between those who hold different values and moral views.
Too bad this student didn't file an official complaint with the university when he had the opportunity to do it.

I'll "touch" it, then.
This son of a bitch needs to be fired, then have his sorry ass whipped.
It's just that simple.
To: rdb3
I wasn't going to touch this one.I won't touch this one with YOURS!
