Wow! If this tenured "professor" (it seems he professes mostly about his perverted sexual practices) worked at a Fortune 500 company instead of a public university and behaved like this I have no doubt that he would find himself... promoted to some meaningless highly paid position in the HR department to showcase the company's commitment to "diversity".
Can you imagine the sh!tstorm this would have caused if the "professor" was a hetero coming on to female students like that?
What ever happened to common courtesy, politeness, civility, etc? Oh, that's right. We're talking about a Liberal here. Got to wear your perverted sexual practices on your sleeve and get in everyone's face about it, don't you? Pig.

As is typical of socialist orthodoxy, the truth is presented 180 degrees out of phase. Note the following
excerpts regarding who is a Nazi and who is not a Nazi.
Program of SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY (SPD)
Accepted at the Heidelberg Sozialdemokratische Partei Congress on September 18, 1925.
CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL POLICY
The Social Democratic Party is striving for the abolition of the educational privileges of the propertied classes.
Education, schooling, and research are public matters; their operation is to be secured through public institutions and the expenditure of public funds. The provision of instruction and instructional materials free of charge. Economic support for pupils and students.
The public institutions of education, schooling, culture and research are secular. All legally grounded interference in these institutions by churches and religious or ideological communities is to be opposed. Separation of church and state. Separation of church and schools. Secular technical and occupational schools and institutions of higher education. No expenditure of public monies for ecclesiastical or religious purposes.
The unified structuring of the school system. The creation of the closest possible relations between practical and intellectual labor on all levels.
The common education of both sexes by both sexes.
Standardized training of teachers in colleges and universities. [...]
EWALD VON KLEIST-SCHMENZIN
National Socialism: A Menace
Der Nationalsozialismus (Berlin: Verlag Neue Gesellschaft, 1932).
"Mere mention of the word religion has caused eruptions of animalistic rage among National Socialists."

One could imagine that the prof is consumed with guilt and this practice of openly using shocking diclosures and propositions is his way of seeking validation from the timid as well as the "open-minded."

Secular vs. religious is only one part of the problem.
Of course, unless Herr "professor" was an important Party member or high up in the SA (at least until "The Night of the Long Knives"), he would likely have been sent to a camp for sexual deviants.
This guy sounds like your typical insecure Liberal bully who uses what authority he thinks he has to force his beliefs on his students who for the most part are not in a position to challenge him. Gee, that does sound like the Nazis, doesn't it?
Always remember this: the Nazis were NOT conservatives, the were "National Socialists", i.e. democRats.

quite frankly, in my grandfather's day and time, on the first day of class this stuff started coming out, someone would have punched him out, told him to shut up and teach, and that would've been the end of it. Today, he'd better deal with it with a lawyer-and YES is does need dealing with.

I was advised that I was entitled to file an official complaint with the University. Should I have chosen to file a complaint, an official investigation would have followed.
At the time, I chose not to file an official complaint.
FOOL !
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Given that that LEFT murdered 120 million humans last century in the name of its ideology and without batting an eye, its abundantly clear that, the only thing the LEFT understands is RAW UNBRIDELED BRUTE FORCE.

His reason for leaving out Plato? I dont like the Greeks.
That's because the Greeks don't want no freaks. Actually, though, I would think there was plenty about the Greeks this guy would like.

Exactly right. If the "prof" had said the same thing about female genitalia, he'd be fired immediately.

I wasn't going to touch this one.A profound choice of words, given the title.
Sorry to hear about the accident. Get well soon!

I think he should have went to the Gay Bar with him. He at least should have explained why he refused. It seems to me Jesus went all sorts of places that were for 'sinners'.
Anyhow, overall, I probably would have debated some of the issues differently from the student in question, but I was impressed with his tone and the fact that he (mostly) refrained from whining about the siutation. I think it was big of him to not file a complaint.
That said, I'd sure like to see what would happen to a straight professor who did the same things to his female studants.
To: zbigreddogz
I disagree.
There's no need to get any closer to this abhorrent predatory vile man.
Mr. Nelson should have filed a complaint, and should still file a complaint.
'Ewwwwwww' is right.

Talk about disappointment.
I thought the article was written to report that this POS had died of aids.
