The military maybe compelled to launch a coup if the civil authorities are hamstrung by liberal traitors and appeasers.
You can bet the federal government will be either be gridlocked by partisanship or crippled by the break down of local authority.
Look for people to start settling social, economic and political scores in the ensuing chaos. Border towns maybe be forced to turn back refugees, while refugees may start shooting to escape the affected areas. City dwellers will raid suruban kitchens while suburban gypies in SUV's will invade the hinterlands both to escape and find food, and you think all those armed farmers will wecome the interlopers with open arms?
And watch the kook fringe rise up from the ashes of insignificance.
