Am I allowed to drown it? Can I hit it over the head with a shovel? What does the law say?
Since you are continuing to let it suffer in the slow inadequate trap (and obviously enjoying it's suffering)....I suggest you immediately shoot it in the head or smash it with a shovel. Put the thing out of it's misery that you caused it.
