"(I remember after the Exxon Valdez oil spill, the Feds and the State of Alaska and the NGOs air lifted deer who had eaten "contaminated" seaweed. These several DEERS were given the best care, and nurtured back to health then air lifted again back to be released.
None of this was FREE. It took money from our budgets, lots of money.
In the same exact time frame a street person froze to death on a grate in downtown Anchortown. No worries, he was just a street drunk afterall."
I think there is an important difference here. The deer had no choice about food and it wasn't their fault that oil was spilled, contaminating everything in site and ruining their habitat. It was a man made disaster.
The street person who froze to death made his choices. He didn't have to be a drunk, do drugs, refuse to work for a living or live on the streets.
God made humans with a thinking, reasoning brain. The animals can't reason. Any reasonable person wouldn't take a cageful of dogs and toss them into a sewer plants water.
I can list a million things that are cruel and inhumane but that doesn't mean we shouldn't fight it when we see it. I don't agree with abortion but just because it exists doesn't mean that drowning dogs is ok, that's a small child's reasoning.
Congratulations!
