IT IS a decision that will horrify his legion of worldwide fans and leave grown women in tears. And not a few guys, either.

In an interview with a New Zealand newspaper, the actor says he has no time for the "idiots" now making films in Hollywood. Bravo, Mr. Connery. Bravo.

He will be missed on the screen. Hope he enjoys his golf at St. Andrews.

"Yeah, well, I never understood it," he said. "I read the book. I read the script. I saw the movie. I still don't understand it." That's priceless.

Sean is a bankable artist and I'll guarantee he will be in more films unless he's dying from something.
There is no way on this earth that someone wouldn't ink a deal with Sean for near 20 million to make a picture.
Sean will most certainly get the offer he won't refuse. I think this was just a way to up his pay.

There is a certain thing which I can't describe but I still know what it is, that some people have.
Sean Connery is one of them. He just simply exudes charisma. Maybe it is that voice, or maybe the eyes, but he definitely has "it".
BTW, I recently saw him in a Walt Disney movie, "Darby O'Gill and the Little People". He was really young and sang. He has a very good singing voice.

I love Connery, but you'd have to be a dimwit not to understand it.

Who ever said that he has "it" is right on. As far as his asking price - if Tom Cruise can get what he gets for the movies he does then Sean is not asking enough.....

"I'm fed up with the idiots ... the ever-widening gap between people who know how to make movies and the people who green-light the movies," Connery says. Enjoy your retirement, Mister Bond.

Sometimes not even the lure of a huge cheque has been enough to tempt him back into the movie-making business. Connery reveals he has no regrets about turning down a role in one of the biggest money-earning film series ever - as Gandalf the wizard in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Not because the pay on offer was too low, however. "Yeah, well, I never understood it," he said. "I read the book. I read the script. I saw the movie. I still don't understand it."
Disappointing!
Now, if it were the Silmarillion he was talking about, I could give him a pass...

I predict the man will be in at least 4-7 more films with pay in the millions.

First Bond file I ever saw was
Thunderball. Nobody else is Bond.
But Connery goes far beyond that role. He would have made a perfect Gandalf. (Although Ian McKellen did a superb job as well.)
