To quibble with you slightly -- I can understand folks thinking it would be Colin Powell; people have been trying to figure out his politics for many years! As in "who's side is he on!". My digging into data about Carl Ford and Richard Armitage -- also narrows them down as NOT likely suspects. Some of these brawls go back to the Contra hearings.

And, I think the Rockefeller, Ellsworth, memogate/treasongate memo all arose in Dem Circles during Contra hearings. I look at what the "they write, what they are proposing. I look at the Plame/Wilson/Niger situation, and I see... something with players and events that trace back to the Contra hearings.

I cannot forget what I saw via CSPAN when former President Clinton tapped Colin Powell for "the job". I swear, if Mr. Powell could have tapped out Morse Code with his eyes, I wouldn't have missed that either. So, with gut, and with other data, I don't think Colin Powell is the leaker.

This entire tact is just more smokescreen by the left. Every investigation og "Plamegate" has led full circle back to Joe Wilson; NOT Karl Rove, NOT GWB and most definitely NOT Colin Powell.

But, the left has never allowed facts to get in the way of a good smear campaign.
