Think carefully. If Crist wants the governorship, he will have to prove himself to me.

But remember the St Petersberg Times is an activist newspaper for the left. They are so left they make the NYTimes look balanced. O'Reilly has been eviscerating them every time he gets the chance. Even my young son noticed during the election that whenever a picture of Bush appeared, it was an ugly picture, while Kerry looked dapper and tall.

If they can cause a Republican damage, they will. So I would have to check this further.

However, if it proves true, Crist will not get my vote.

Think hard. Did you read his comments after the New London decision? Jerk says we don't have a problem with local govs using eminent domain taking property in a similar manner.

I haven't seen anything about Crist that appeals to conservatives. Not me anyway. I'm sure not voting for him in the primary. But he's got the money machine. And his blase attitude towards confiscation of private property for development is a sure winner with the power brokers in the local government arena.

Please rethink it, and make sure you vote in the GOP primaries so you will have a decent choice in the general election.

Popman,

Hi. I was also going to support Crist for Gov. until 2 weeks ago. Now my tagline says it all.

You'll probably find this side by side comparison interesting:

http://www.tg2006.com/pdf/comparison.pdf

The way I see it:

Crist said in the debate: I'm pro-life but I want to keep the law the same. - and - I'm a "conservative" but I support civil unions. He's also open to gay adoption. He said this on a recent radio interview. Now, thousands of normal parents are on waiting lists they wouldn't have endorsed him. Many of his supporters are sick of him after finding all this out and rightly so.

Aside from being a liberal he's also a liar. His proposal of $5,000 a year per adopted child is something he knows would never pass, nor does he have any intention of proposing it. But that together with his support of the school size ammendment (a piece of legislation that would only make teachers lazier and does nothing to even encourage better teaching standards) are just small examples of his fiscal recklessness. The state is in trouble if this lying, deceiving, liberal gets in.

Popman, thanks for rethinking your vote. A lot are. The way I see it it's imperative to stop Crist and vote for Gallagher as the only hope for a conservative Republican party.
