The first two malpractice suits were both fraudulent. Sooner or later the facts and the law are going to catch up with Michael. But that's the way it is with criminals. When they get away with their crimes, they get overconfident and make some thoughtless mistake.

If anyone lied to obtain a malpractice award, you'd think the insurance companies and the lawyers who represented the doctors, would be gathering evidence.
This is how criminals get caught eventually. They keep getting away with it, and start to get sloppy. Hubris, I think applies.
