BOSTON --Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., is heading for Nantucket with plans for an Aug. 12 fundraiser. Former President Bill Clinton and his wife will spend a week on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket vacationing and attending the fundraiser. Proceeds will go to Hillary Clinton's re-election campaign. The fundraiser will be held at the Nantucket home of Elizabeth Frawley Bagley and Smith W. Bagley. The Bagleys are Democratic activists who have previously hosted the Clintons. Tickets to the event will cost $1,000, The Boston Sunday Globe reported.

Just like red tide they're back and undoutedly freeloading at someone's place on the islands.
The real question is will they be inviting Mr & Mrs Heinz to their fundraiser and will Mr Heinz reciprocate by inviting Twankles out windsurfing in Old Crusty?

It will be interesting to compare the Clinton's fund-raising success with the July 9 DNC fund-raising flop out at the Hamptons...
Dean falls flat in the Hamptons (Plutocrats stay away from Howard-hosted fund-raiser.)
The Democrat Party has become the Clinton Party. Hillary! will out-raise the entire Democrat Party all by herself. And if the rest of the Donks are hoping that a few crumbs will fall from her! table, they don't know Hillary!.

For anyone who remembers poor little Elian gonzalez: The Bagleys threw a party at their Georgetown (Wash, D.C.) mansion for their friends and trotted out Elian as a sort of curiosity for their amusement.
When even the Washington Post howled, they insisted that it was all for the benefit of the boy.
The Bagleys are the picture of s**t with money and proof positive that blood lines degenerate over time.

People are obviously dumping money into
Hillary!'s Senate re-election campaign in anticipation of
her! run for President. It simply does not take that much money to beat A-Republican-To-Be-Named-Later in New York State.
Hillary! is going to finish her re-election campaign with hundreds of millions of dollars left over.
So, here is the question...
If Hillary! does not run for President, what happens to the money? Is there any mechanism by which a person retiring from the Senate can keep the money?
How about if the person loses? Can a loser walk away from an election with the left over money from a campaign?
If there is a way to steal the money, you can count on a Clinton to do it. It would really funny to see all the Donks turning their pockets inside out supporting Hillary!, only to have the Clintons take the money and run.

Clinton and his wife will spend a week on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket vacationing and attending the fundraiser... Is there any way we can bribe these people to just go away and leave the rest of us alone?
I just don't think my mental health can stand 3.5+8=11.5 more l-o-o-o-ong years of fawning MSM stories and daily video clips on TV worshiping the Klintons and their crooked friends and hangers-on!

I'm no expert. I do not think she's gonna raise hundreds of millions, but several million. Before campaign finance reform, politicians had a great deal of latitude in disposing of unused campaign funds. I don't know if anything has changed.
One of the reasons Ted Kennedy is so "powerful" is because his name has an iconic effect on the checkbooks of a certain class of reflexively Democratic contributers. He can raise money for other Democrats who kiss his big fat ring and has lots of money in his war chest to sprinkle on those pleasing in his sight. Running in the rotten borough of Massachusetts (I think the proper term is actually "pocket borough") he doesn't need to spend money on reelection when he has the Boston Globe and local broadcast media acting as auxiliaries to his campaign.

Maybe we can get the Senate Republicans to pass a law that if a Senator loses an election, she gets to keep her unspent campaign funds for personal use. The restriction would be that the money could never again be used for political purposes. Make it a short-term provision, to cover the 2006 election cycle only.
In a year, we would be seeing the Clintons retiring to a private island in the South Pacific after Hillary! loses one of the most ineptly run Senate re-election campaigns in US History. The video of Bill Clinton caught with his pants down with some hooker released one week before Election Day would be the icing on the cake!
It's a guaranteed pick-up of one seat for the 'Pubbies in the Senate. Maybe two if John Corzine can be convinced to play along...
