Grant County should close down this "for profit" prison. It's not run by Grant County, but Grant County is getting bad publicity because of it.

The Jail was inspected and corrected a couple of issues.
The only issue one could have is that it does not provide government jobs. Tax payers win one.

Four inmates settled their cases last month. Amounts were not disclosed, except for the $70,000 given to Todd Cox of Falmouth, who said jailers kicked him repeatedly and broke his ribs.NO,taxpayers LOST, Big time. Look at the $70,000 out of court settlement for just the ONE person. And that's prolly just the tip of the iceberg. Plus that doesn't count lawyers fees and paper work costs.
The bottom line is they treated those "perps" WORST then an animal pound would treat animals. If it got reported that an animal pound had nine dogs in a cage meant to hold two, and they were NOT getting medical treatment, I dare say there would be a riot at that location. Right? RIGHT!!

23 hours a day in solitary would be fine with me for all prisoners.
If you don't like the amenities, don't go.
It's not the "systems" fault that put a prisoner there in the first place. Prison is a place to be feared, and violence and rape are a part of it throughout history, just as there has always been a constant supply of those who will not abide by written Law.
I'm sorry you or someone you care about have been wronged. But the abuse you cite is rare enough for me not to give a shit.
