Town Raid On Overcrowding (Three Homes 90 Illegal Tenants)

Brookhaven town officials Friday launched another volley in their ongoing war on illegal housing, ordering the closing of three residences they said housed as many as 90 tenants.

In documents filed in State Supreme Court in Riverhead, the town alleged that the conditions in the houses, all zoned for single-family -- one in Ronkonkoma and two in Farmingville -- were filthy and overcrowded, with fire hazards such as exposed wiring and blocked exits.

The homeowners each face possible $10,000 fines for violations of town codes, officials said. Two of the homeowners could not be reached for comment, but one said he'd been duped by his tenants. Officials said the homeowners must bring the three homes up to code

The most lovely part:

At 177 Woodycrest Dr. in Farmingville, the documents show that "between 27 and 33 people" shared a space where double beds blocked the front door and human waste overflowed from three backyard cesspools. Also in Farmingville, at 11 Cedar Oaks Ave., 33 men lived with blocked exits and no smoke detectors, the court papers said. Town inspectors said there were 24 beds in five bedrooms at the house, with no living room space.

And, of course, the landlords were reporting all of that income for tax purposes. They'd have to, otherwise they'd be sure to have IRS troubles.

This scenario is common in California in the seedier neighborhoods. They pack these houses like sardines in a can. The homes have to be completely renovated when they move the illegals out. The owners usually play dumb about it while they make a pile of money from rent. In these neighborhoods the neighbors don't always report the mess because they're illegal aliens themselves.

And Bush still has nothing to say.

I am ALMOST sorry I supported him. And I supported him a great deal. I would never have imagined that I would now turn against him due to this travesty. But it's time. Following this, and CFR, Bush has given the finger to the USA. And I will not forget.

Hit them where they work,,hit them where they sleep,,track them when they move. It is called law enforcement. We cannot let one segment of the population live outside the law. These regulations and work rules were put in to safe guard interests of tenants and employees. They need to be enforced.

The landlords don't make a pile of money off illegal tenants in California. What happens is that you rent to one, or a family, and they move in a ton of other people. They trash the house and eventually quit paying rent. You go to collect, or evict and nobody speaks english. Nobody knows where the guy you rented to is, and it maks eviction very difficult. It's illegal to discriminate against them, so what can you do? I sold my rental house because I saw this happening too many times to others.

Steve Levy, the suffolk executive (a Dem) is really shining on this issue. many in his own party want to oust him now, but he is sticking to his guns.

it's everywhere...

here in podunk Kansas it's usually a trailers with a homemade "addition" built onto the side. Usually shells built of 2x4's and roofing tin right on the ground. (think of Brazilian ghetto styles)
Add chickens and the occasional goat.
Add dogs to chase the chickens.
Add kids to chase the dogs.
Make sure there is at least one rusting vehicle.
Remove all the grass, trees or anything that grows.
Replace with dirt, sand, clay and trash.

Also, those backyard sheds many use for lawnmowers, etc. are actually used to house "undocumented workers" in many of our finer trailer parks.
Couple the expanded trailer and Home Depot sheds with a small camper and you have accomodations for 20+ "migrants".
The late night "oompa-oompa" circus music is mildy entertaining, but it is usually drowned out by violent screams after midnight.
Enjoy the Gunfire, Banditry, fist fights, drunkeness, overcrowding, and general mayhem at your leisure.

Even the toothless meth dealers are afraid to enter the trailer parks here...Whatta country!

I remember this happening all the time in the 80's when Reagan gave citizenship to the vietnemese. Those guys could fit twice as many in the same size house as these mexicans had. College housing the vietnemese lived like roaches.

Chevy Chase, Maryland!

They forgot to mention that the brass and imported marble was not being polished in the foyer either. ;-)

Vietnamese bought my old house. It was a 4 bedroom house (plus a "bonus room") in a very pretty upscale, newer neighborhood. It was a brother and sister who bought the house. I accidently had a package shipped there (random address hadn't been changed yet on Amazon) and went to pick it up. The woman who answered the door did not speak English, nor could read Western characters (the buyer could). She kept trying to give me mail belonging to others. There were at least 5 or more different names (last names, too) that I could see in the stack. We drive by sometimes and there are 4 cars in the garage, 2 in the street (plus a 2 car garage.) I don't know how many are living there, but it was more than we were (2 adults, 2 kids when we moved out.) That was happening a lot in that neighborhood.

It seemed a shame that with as many stupid covenants the homeowners association had that they couldn't limit how many frigging people lived there. I felt like I was living in an apartment complex with all the people.

What you're describing in Kansas sounds exactly like places in California. People even rent their garages to them.

This is how they live in Mexico, and they bring their ways with them as they feed out of America's trough.

I went to the newsday article, looked at the photos and then went deeper into. The paper had a series of photos on "now homeless immigrants". Obviously staged for maximum sympathy. I then saw a related stories links and went to that. It turned out to be stories about some moron white supremacist who recieved 25 years for beating a "immigrant farm laborer". The story had no relationship to the evictions that I could discern. Obviously through ommision of key words like ILLEGAL when describing these people and through the use of staged photos the paper is forwarding its agenda.
