I like that our president stays in shape, too, and am looking forward to the doses next week with pictures of him and Laura on the ranch, with him in jeans (siiiighhhh!) and his cowboy hat!

Now the real question is: Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi? Inquiring minds want to know! What if it's neither? ;-)

Yeah, swell, now what can we do about his unusually high tolerance for disrespectful reporters?Make them sweat for a month in Crawford.

Whoa, I see another contest going on here! A while back we had one on Condi's height. I'm betting on Diet Pepsi.

Chicken has become the stable meat diet in the UK especially chicken breast, it is promoted as the healthiest meat less calories and fat but I sincerely doubt that.
I must admit I was semi aware of the details in the programme but it emphasized to me how the consumer has pushed the industry further and further until now the conditions the birds are kept in is no longer acceptable in a civilized society.

Reuters says President Bush plans to go to Crawford this Tuesday. Thanks for that bit of news. When I was putting this thread together, I searched high and low for a date, but couldn't find one. Now I feel the "week ahead" news on this thread is complete. Thanks again.

I just bought another 50 lb. sack of soybeans, which I have been eating for some years in place of most meat.

Wonderful pics, Wolfstar, glad you posted them! I love the ones of President Bush with the military, and the last one, with the Sargeant and his little daughter, is so sweet!

Usually means point of view.

Actually, to me, this picture with President Bush looking down, making that face, looks like he is doing a sobriety test and is having to walk in a straight line....LOL
I know that isn't really a laughing matter for Bush...but he DOES kinda look like he is trying not to wobble...IMHO

In fact he (and Laura) have inspired me to go to the fitness center and work out three times a week, and walk on the others. Yes, and reading your comments here reminds me to devote extra time to exercise. I do all my errands on bicycle or walking, but everything is less than a mile and the President's distance of fifteen miles shames me.

The press thinks that the President gave them the finger? Are you kidding?? And what about Leno?Yeah. The President visited Capitol Hill this week to push for a piece of legislation. He spoke briefly to reporters. When he turned to leave, one of the reporters shouted a question about what the GWB thought of its passage (or something to that effect). His back was already to the reporter and he was partly down the hall, so in answer he raised his arm with a thumbs up.
Maybe snugs can find a photo to put up for you. I couldn't find one quickly.
Anyway, Jay Leno used a clip of the President's gesture that night in his monologue and suggested GWB flipped the bird to the media. It became a minor flap for the next couple of days.
He did not flip the bird. OWF -- hold your right hand up and turn turn it so it's edge-on to your face. Then fold all fingers except the thumb down into your palm. Then raise your thumb in the "thumbs up" gesture. That's the angle the video camera caught -- edge on. Stills taken from the video are a little indistinct due to the lighting angle. But it IS a thumbs up gesture. It's much more clear on the video.
