In some cases bottle feeding has been better for the child.

Most cases of breast-feeding failure stem from medical intervention or wrong medical advice, mother's ignorance of proper technique (has to be learned-- is not instinctive), social pressures, or in rare cases a medical or physical problem.

Certainly adopted babies and those who are not thriving on mother's milk for one of the above reasons should be bottle fed.

Those who choose to bottle feed are doing their best to parent with their knowledge at the time and should not be judged. My husband's cousin did not breastfeed due to a thyroid problem. However, she and her husband cuddled and nurtured their baby (whether feeding or not) in a very close, loving, and natural way.
