Libertarians upset about a Supreme Court ruling on taking land have proposed seizing a justice's vacation home and turning it into a park.

It would fit the Kelo criteria much better if it were converted to a shopping mall or a Wal-Mart rather than a park since tax revenue will be much higher from a commercial entity. Arguing for a park seems to me quixotic at best.

I would imagine any plan would have to comport with uses for the land that are most amenable to approval.

Maybe they should propose building a National Gay and Lesbian Recreational Area on the property; if nothing else, we'd get to watch Breyer either acquiesce or get vilified by his progressive fans.

You're right. Instead of a park maybe redevelopment into a trailer park is in order.

Yes, but this guy's house is in the sticks. Apparently, the deer outnumber the people.

I don't know how much money a mega-store would generate, because there aren't enough people there to buy stuff. The Hotel is a better idea, because it would increase tourism. And a park is for "public use" ... so maybe it could happen, but the judge doesn't seem worried.

They know the laws don't apply to them, and there is no way this will happen.

You have a good point, but being named "Constitution" Park does it for me!

Gotta love it, Constitution Park on an anti-Constitution judge's ex-property!
