Those of us who were too young to serve suffered only the ridicule of our peers and the disdain of our teachers for supporting you then, as we support you now.

Our little adolescent miseries were nothing compared to what you who were just a few years older gave, and you will ever have our utmost admiration and respect.

It was not you who failed Americans at home, but Americans at home who failed you.

In many of us that forged a determination to do what is right, regardless of popular opinion, and regardless of the doubts of those around us.

You, who are our older brothers and sisters, cousins, uncles and aunts, taught us by example that freedom isn't free, and that loud proclamations are just that--loud, and not necessarily correct.

Thank you for paving the way, for your great sacrifices, and may Almighty God shower you all with His blessings for all time.

So If you see me, someday, riding a green hardtail, in the wind, remember that my hair was short until well after the war... that I'm a biker and not a hippie.
