Here's my granddaughter, who had an un-named genetic problem that prevented her from ever making enough white blood cells. She needed shots every day and then twice a day for stimulating factors from the time she was 6 weeks old until she had an umbilical cord bone marrow stem cell transplant at 15 months of age. Her procedure was at Cook's Children's Hospital at Fort Worth, Texas. Her blood type changed from A neg, 46XX to O positive, 46 XY. (here, she has a cast because she caught the end of her little finger in a door hinge. She only lost the very tip of her finger, but the bone was exposed, so it's being treated as an open fracture)

Awesome that she was treated - it changed her blood type? Wow.

be sure and look at the pinged post, for a picture of my grand daughter --- then you can read what Frist said.

So young! So cute! What a medical history!
May God continue to bless your granddaughter and your family.
It's been a bad week for me with my mother's last sister and two friends passing away.
Maybe I've become too cynical, but I believe Frist may have calculated his stem cell comments to alleviate the effect of his efforts to thwart "poison pill" amendments to the Lawful Commerce in Firearms bill.
