I am too. As a matter of fact, I believe it is of paramount importance that she control her own body BEFORE she gets herself into a situation or predicament where she thinks she should have a RIGHT to make a CHOICE to take life rather than give it.
I wouldn't characterize this as being about "ideology".
It's about not letting them do to the FS what they've already done to the Boy Scouts and are trying to do to the Catholic faith.

humm.. do you stand in front of hospitals protesting the taking of organs from living human beings? Harvesting organs from brain dead individuals requires you cut them open, thus killing them, to remove the organs. Isn't this murder?
I'm sure there are Republican's in Congress who don't agree with the principles of limited Federal government and a judiciary that is restrained from adjusting the law beyond legislative intent.
The Federalist Society comes off as "anti-elitist," by advocating adherence to Constitutional principles. Those who subscribe to those principles are branded as "conservative" or "libertarian," and are assigned the political status associated with those labels.
I don't think the Federalist Society has an honorary program. It prefers members who make the affirmative effort to join, after thoughtful deliberation.

I agree with you on that part, and not just to the Catholic faith in general, but to anyone for whom they think Christ's precepts and principles hold precedence. Teddy K., John K., et al., are "Catholic"...that's the kind of "faith" they want represented.

You're probably right. In fact, I'm sure there are some RINOs the Federalist Society would just as soon not have on their roster.
Perhaps I should have called for everyone simply to support the Society through contributions and letters to their congressmen.
Of course, if Roberts had been a card carrying member and one-time legal representative of such a group as say ... the American Civil Liberties Union, this wouldn't even be a question. Oh wait, we already have one of those on the SCOTUS.

The libs have spent the last several years (and no small amt of $$) trying to do to the word "conservative" what we did to the word "liberal".
Their obvious choice of attack has been to try and solidify the concept that "separation of church and state" implies that one's political beliefs may not spring from one's religious beliefs. As crazy as it sounds, they've made remarkable progress...with much assistance from the MSM.
The Roberts nomination has presented the perfect time to try to force them into the open with their contentions. They're being very careful not to reveal their true intent and may very likely back down in this case. But they won't quit. There'll be more instances and, eventually, the GOP is going to have to take it on in a serious way.

All the attacks aimed at the Federalist Society by liberals are ridiculous.
The Society (of which I am a member) is more of a loosely-organized think-tank or debating society than anything else. It does not take litigating positions like the ACLU, and it doesn't engage in lobbying efforts like the ABA and other "professional" organizations for lawyers.
It is an intellectual organization plain and simple, and it is by no means ideologically monochromatic. Its supporters include figures on the right as diverse Richard Epstein and Robert Bork.
If Republicans can't defend the Federalist Society, which represents the best of the rising tide of conservative and libertarian legal thought in this country, then they can't defend SQUAT.
