I figured I never got marching orders since I haven't earned my decoder ring yet!

Make sure you are logged on when you install the software.

This is so unfair. How would I know what to think if someone didn't tell me what to think?

There is a website that thousands of committed Republicans spend hours on, giving and receiving marching orders. When people stray from the party line, it's not unusual for them to be banned.

What a load. IMHO, FReepers are (generally) Conservative first, and maybe Republican if the party is doing what it should be doing as our representative party. If not, plenty of FReepers openly criticize GOP policies and votes without getting banned.

You get banned for being a troll, or a jerk to other FReepers.

But dang, FR is great, ain't it?

ROFLMAO...Hey I didn't get my marching orders today in my Freepmail. What happened? I don't know what to do with myself today...LOL...Geez this is hilarious. The only people who get banned from this site are obvious liberal trolls who are attempting to promote their agenda on FR, or people trying to promote border vigilantism and other wacko causes.

It's amusing the way libs try to portray FR as this rigid gang of far-right extremists who all share the exact same views. That's just completely wrong: people are all over the map on almost every issue discussed here.

And because these gooses, Social Security, Medicare, lay golden eggs. They manufacture Democrats.

That line may well come back to haunt him. If that statement could be publicized far and wide, and pinned on the democrats, the true reason for their objections to modernizing and strengthening Social Security would be out of the bag.

Well, in a way this illustrates their way of thinking as well as anything I've seen in recent years. The Dems really don't understand free political debate such as we have here. They are used to a top-down approach of the leaders dictating the talking points, and those points are repeated until they start to ring of truthfulness (at least to them).

I guess they can't believe that regular folks like ourselves would engage in debate with each other to hone our positions and work out our ideas by subjecting them to intense scrutiny here. We must just be some kind of on-line focus group field-testing Karl Rove's latest talking points - because that is exactly they way they use the media - to test and disseminate talking points.

Y'know, in the past, I've argued in favor of gay marriage and marijuana legalization. Today, I've made several posts that partially defend Islam. I have yet to be banned.

I suspect the banning based more on behavior than straying from the party line.

Don't forget James Dobson's secret revival meetings that have gripped the minds of half the country. LOL

Substitute FreeRepublic and Christians for = (The) American People.

In essense they fear and despise the People having a voice. A method of organization. Difficult for elites to thrive when the People are educated. Difficult to rule above us when we organize to remove their power from them.

Interesting since he, in essence, says both freepers and Christians cannot think for themselves but have to have marching orders.

American liberals do not believe in free will. In this as in many other ways, they are like Communists. Marx said "Conditions create consciousness" - as such, Communists think they smarter than most as in their own minds they've broken this supposed link. Liberals feel the same way, and like Communists they regard most people as dupes who they have to guide to the glorious future for their own good.

To conclude, the war on American liberals is a continuation of the Cold War by other means.

Regards, Ivan

Guennie, you and I have known each other for a long time - you know I'm always up for a fight with the liberals. I'm still mad at them for supporting Weird Bill. ;)

"It is the duty of every generation of Democrats to produce new geese to lay 70 years of golden eggs."

Hey Perlstein, yer stupid effing geese have been aborting their golden eggs. Ergo: no geese, no eggs!

" Nothing scares them more than us returning to our simple answers."

Yeah, sure. How about something like, uh, oh say, "From each according to his abilities. To each according to his needs."

Yeah, that's the ticket. Oh wait, here's something even better now that Hillary's mission is "to come up with a new idea agenda for the Democrats.

Hillary Clinton:

"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

That's the whole thing.

You will pay a medical bill,—yours and everybody else's. Then, the bill payers will have a right to come to your house and tell you what you can and cannot eat, how much your life is worth and in what order you will be allowed to receive that medical care. (Politicians and actors being of greatest import will skip to the front of the line of course.)

Yep, heaven on earth. Fortunately, to most Americans, this just doesn't sound credible AT ALL.

As I reread the article it occurred to me that they are again seeing the Republican party as operating as they do...IE: marching orders, interest groups etc.

They just don't get the FREE part. That people actually do and can come to conclusions with out others (MSM, Union Leaders etc) telling them what/how to think.

They see free only in free-love, free-lunch, free-dumb....but see none of the consequences of their reactions.

If the death of the Dems were a game of clue, Rick's answer seems to be: Free Republic, on the Internet, with the VRWC marching orders.

They'll be drawing on the capital from Medicare 35 years from now. Congressional Democrats won't let them kill it. Because they understand: These programs make life in America fundamentally better. And because these gooses, Social Security, Medicare, lay golden eggs. They manufacture Democrats.

Until they become so fiscally untenable that even juggling the books doesn't keep them solvent.

Free Republic, I'd argue, is far more crucial to the Republican infrastructure than the Heritage Foundation.

Oh, please. I'm an ordinary American housewife, Rick.

The site has some value and some problems but it's nothing more than citizens expressing themselves as is their right(and permitted at the capricious whims of the owner) and it's interesting how the left hates that so. The left that truly is the party of talking points and can't follow a point to its logical conclusion.

See my post #68 - we came to pretty much the same conclusion upon further review. My original comment stands - this is a terminal case of projection.
