Husband beats wife to death for defying 'orders'
By Samir Salama, Bureau Chief
Abu Dhabi:
A man beat his wife to death because he says she "disobeyed his orders and looked out of the balcony", a police source said.
The incident occurred at midnight on Friday. The Syrian man has been arrested and charged with the 20-year-old woman's murder.
The man, a hairdresser, was returning home from his shop at around 10.30pm, when he saw his second wife, also Syrian, looking out of the balcony of his flat on the first floor.
He got angry, rushed to his flat and started beating her all over her body.
The woman's screams forced his first wife who lives in the same flat, out of bed and she tried to stop him. However, he overpowered her and continued beating his second wife up for half an hour until she fainted.
The 30-year-old man called an ambulance but paramedics found his wife dead.
The accused told police he had not meant to kill her.
"I just wanted to discipline her after she disobeyed my orders. She died while I was hitting her for daring to look out of the balcony," he is said to have told interrogators.
"I used to beat my wives but I never thought that beating would kill any of them. It was just my way of disciplining them," he said.
His first wife told police she had tried hard to stop him but he had beaten her and pushed her away.
"He continued to beat her for almost half an hour before she died," she said.
The accused has been referred to the prosecution on charges of beating his wife to death.

Any US MSM going to follow this story?
That's what I am trying hard to remember...
Grab a cot and wait in shifts with pabianice
"Imagine hating women to the point of beating them to death and have it all sanctioned by your faith, clergy, state, community... "
While I'll agree women have a tough lot in the Muslim world at least the State is not sanctioning this, unless by sanction you mean being charged with murder. Hopefully justice will be served and this POS will be punished
For looking out of the balcony? Okaaaay. Well, at least she won't make that mistake again. What could first wifey be thinking now?
I haven't seen it yet. I found it in the UAR paper but got led to indirectly via http://www.hasibokos.com/
Maybe move in with Mom? Don't know if that is done there.
This is sick. Too bad the other one didn't sneak up on him with a big frying pan.
Well, he's probably more of a barber. Afterall, can't have men cutting women's hair or women cutting men's hair. Maybe he was a poofter who didn't want wife #2 to see him holding hands with his boyfriend? But they are a religion of peace and he did prevent her from possibly marring her honor in some way. He'll probably go free. Which is good, because the position of 'wife #2' is open again. He's got some looking to do.
I'm going to make a joke. It's terrible and tasteless but I can't resist...
Maybe the problem is that not all Middle-Eastern men beat their wives to death. If this were the case, winning the war on terror would only require us to wait a generation.
(ducks)
Feeling guilty about their feminist ways? Who knows?
Naw, I always say nothing surprises me anymore.... until I encounter some of the long exchanges in some threads that began when somebody missed the "missing" tags;)
ROTFL
Sadly, he'll go looking for her and beat her and her mom. I wonder if she gets any 'protection', as she gave a statement to the police. You know what that means? More beatings.
The appeal of Islam to violent, low-skilled, low-income, low-cultured men becomes clearer every day. It's the ideal religion for wife-beaters of all races...or for any man who needs a scapegoat for his own shortcomings.
That's awful
-ly funny!
Is this why the feminist Libs love the people of the religion of peace?
My sentiments exactly. When he said "don't look out the balcony", he meant it.
I mean, what did she expect?
