OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The state Democratic Party now has a paid staff thanks to the Democratic National Committee.
The national party is paying the salary of three staff members as the state party continues to work to pay off a nearly $500,000 debt. Democrat officials are hoping to reduce the debt with a fund-raiser later this year featuring retired Army General Wes Clark.
State Democratic Party Chairman Lisa Pryor says the three staff members being paid by the national party are Oklahoma residents and will recruit and train volunteers and work in state House and Senate campaigns next year.
Channel 6 letting their "inclinations" show.
Ingpay.
Read between the lines...the DNC did NOT send the OK state party the cash..rather it is paying the salaries of the three staffers directly...IOW..there is something really wrong with the books..
The state Dems should demand an outside audit. But they won't.
The whole thing got shushed up; none of the local media asked any questions about it. Then, next thing we know, they don't have any money...
I don't know anything about that..but if the state party just had a cash shortfall.the national would either give them an infusion, or a loan..not this..here's a comaprabel example..one senator has excess funds in his campaign acount. He gives some money to another senator who's in a hard race..He does NOT put some of the other guy's staffers on his payroll
Sharon..FYI..and any infor re the comments in #5..thanks..
It's not always the inclination of the entire station. Just whoever happened to write this.
Bump!
Yep, they are on the ropes.
I thought Brad Carson was funny to listen to. I would love to be a fly on the wall when Brad and Barney Frank had a conversation.
Yawn, yep but they still have a governor.
Well think of it this way: Mad Howie is touring the country trying to suck $10 donations out of the pockets of college students. That meager amount gets shoveled to the OK state party for staff.
Howie's gonna need to be on the road 24/7 to cover the outlay for the Oklahoma, Arkansas and Florida state party offices.
Go Howie!!
AARGH! It's "Democrat" Party, not "Democratic" Party - why can't the media get it right?
They also have probably the best weather in the US which just got better, and good sports coverage working with Channel 9 in Oklahoma City.
