Because if bin Laden had been killed from the bombing at tora bora, (which many people believe), then the author's contention that bin Laden escaped from Tora Bora would be meaningless. In other words, if he can't prove that bin Laden is dead or alive, one way or the other, then his entire book becomes nothing but more conjecture.
