My husband had to turn it to another channel when Ron Paul was up there. How did explain that one about the vitamins? How does that relate to the bill?
OH GOD, it's bad enough we have Sonovich and DeWanker in Ohio, now Stephanie Tubbs Jones is up. At least we have Rob Portman.
Ron Paul claims CAFTA will require presciptions for Vitamins.
"My husband had to turn it to another channel when Ron Paul was up there. How did explain that one about the vitamins? How does that relate to the bill?"
This is a little known portion of the treaty whereas we agree to comply with the WTO CODEX requirement. Ron Paul was exactly correct and those of us who choose alternatives to traditional medicine object strongly.
Yes, it would require a visit to an MD to obtain a prescription for food supplements or herbs as happens now in some European countries. We all know how much MD's know about the subject. Any prescription they would allow to be written would be in such small doses as to be absolutely meaningless.
There really are millions of people in this country who object to that part of this treaty not to mention health food stores, nutritional consultants and other small businesses. Regardless of what some here on FR think, nutritional supplements are necessary to one's health. Do those freepers know what necessary vitamins/minerals they are getting with their "appropriate" eating habits? I didn't think so.
Ask those people who depend on food supplements or herbs for a much better quality of life just what the medical profession did for them. Most of us are taking food supplements because of the failure of the medical profession and we enjoy the results of that use. Also because we expand our minds in reading about nutritional deficiencies in today's world.
