Yes, Art Teele was a Republican...he was welcomed as a "new face" by Kentucky Republicans at a state meeting a few years ago...

The reference to Teele is near the bottom of the page. He may have been a convenient "convert" to the Republican party in order to take on a Democrat rival. But he apparently DID join the party.
