When you see the term "Miami Commissioner" you know the term, corruption wont be too far away..
MIAMI -- Suspended Miami Commissioner Art Teele is facing federal charges today, Local 10 News has learned.
Arthur Teele has been at the center of several investigations recently.
The U.S. attorney in Miami will hold a news conference this afternoon to announce that Teele has been indicted on federal charges. Local 10 News hasn't seen the specifics, but is told Teele will be charged with intent to commit mail and wire fraud and money laundering.
These charges could be in connection with his tenure as head of the city of Miami Community Redevelopment Agency, or it could be in connection with a scheme to steal thousands of gallons of jet fuel from Miami International Airport, Local 10 News political reporter Michael Putney said.
Local 10 News should know more specifics later today. Be sure to watch Local 10 News at 5 p.m. for the latest.
Teele was convicted in March of threatening a Miami-Dade police officer. He is awaiting trial on other fraud charges in state court.
Hey man, nice shot.
He shot himself in the mouth, he is unconscious but breathing and is on the way to the hospital.

You're sh!tting me!
(steely)
He's GOP.
Man, he can't even get killing himself right!
YIKES! I feel bad for the people who had to see that.
Ahh well.
(steely)
you might change the title to read "Illegal Discharge of a firearm through his cheek"
the local media is doing the standard ambulance chase with the helicopter routine
CBS 4 says he's still breathing.
I remember watching this guy on TV, debating Alex Penelas when they were both running for first strong mayor of Miami. I remember thinking they both came off as a couple of jerks, but Teele got my vote because he punched another politician in the mouth one time.
Sources on the local news say the condition of the individual cannot be confirmed...he's probably dead, though. You don't go into a building like the Miami Herald to merely maim yourself.
He should've called a news conference first..
LONG LIVE R BUD DWYER
I think he is a Republican, actually.
Sometimes that is as good a reason as any.
