Are you a supporter of Smoot or Hawley?

Our elected representatives frequently get their priorities backwards.

Our country is supposed to have a government for the people and by the people.

But our representatives want, very often, to have a people for the government and by the government.

CAFTA is a great example. What earthly benefit is there to the average American Citizen? There is none. All the benefit goes to our direct and personal competition, poor people in third world countries.

And our elected representatives are determined to lower every person in the US to that level of competition. Poor people are easier to rule.

In Colorado I called Udall's office, he is opposed. I am so amazed to be in agreement with a Democrat. Allard and Beauprez support CAFTA. I told Beauprez office that if he voted yes on CAFTA he can forget about my vote for him as Governor. Tancredo is opposed, I thanked him for that.

I expect Bush to stand up and announce its "a new world order" like his crazy internationalist daddy did.

When you are the 300 pound gorilla on the block, you don't have to compromise with anyone. When your elected representatives run to these compromises of your sovereignty, somebody's getting paid and it ain't you.

I understand completely. Roles Americans once expected our elected Representatives to defend on our behalf have changed dramatically over the past few years.

Nothing surprises.

Thank you.

======================

CAFTA already passed in the Senate.

Senators are now sweating it, big time.

So are a lot of congressmen. Very strange.

Large corporations are behind this. Agriculture is staunchly behind CAFTA.

We're better off if these countries develop economically

They can't do it until they become free societies. Giving them money only reinforces the bad government they have now and gives them a welfare mentality. All we are doing is creating debt and hardship for future American generations by succumbing to the socialist "free trade" notions.

The heritage foundation is using the talking points put together by the Council on Foreign Relations. Neither organization is conservative or republican. They are internationalists bent on erasing Americas borders and integrating her economically, politically and socially with the communist, socialist and totalitarian dictatorships in the Western Hemisphere.

CAFTA Can Be Stopped! Please Keep the Pressure on Your Rep!

I'm frustrated.

I keep calling and e-mailing my rep, senators, and the white house.

I even tried contacting the gop headquarters both locally and nationally.

I've asked nicely, I've begged, pleaded, demanded and threatened!

That's right,

I threatened to stop giving them money and to stop voting for them! and still they keep doing the same things!!!

See you in Boston...........................

I'm with you brother! Only I have locked and loaded 'cause writing them Congress critters, over the past thirty years, and voting for the best pick of their litter hasn't changed a damn thing.

I'm guess I'm resolved to the implosion and a re-start. And this from a guy who's glass has been always half full! ;)

I was responding to your post #40. Those talking points were written by the Council on Foreign Relations and put on the Heritage website. They are globalists par excellance who want to see the merger of the United States with the communists, socialists, and totalitarian dictatorships of the western hemisphere. I would not hold them up as a credible resource.

...we'll all become citizens of the Dominican Republic next week?

Naw - more like all the Dominican Republic citizens will become US citizens. (legally or illegally)

Well unfortunately it passed, albeit by a narrow margin, just a couple of votes.

The number one issue of discussion behind the scenes, according to NUMBERSUSA, was the impact on more illegal immigration into the USA as a result of CAFTA. Bush was handing out assurances on tighter borders in exchange for votes like a typical politician makes promises at election time.
