I'd like to know what a bunch of people in central america with no money are going to buy from the US.

First of all, cotton. Second, the government of these countries are going to start buying goods from the US. This in turn helps their economy, which makes their populace richer, so they can then buy our products.

Think of it this way, would you rather your dollars go to China, or to Central America? Do you remember when China was a backward country, similar to Central American countries today? Had we invested in Central America 30 years ago, instead of China, our economy woould be a lot better off.

#60.

=======================================

Did you hear that China's economic might (thanks to disastrous trade policy in favor of Communist China) just emboldened them to bid for a major United States owned oil corporation within the past two weeks?

You are aware of that, right?

First of all, cotton.

No the textile manufacturers that have shut down here and relocated down there will buy it not the Central American people. And because they are now located out of country, they can buy from any country, not us, because they are no longer obligated by US rules.

In addition, the China can also backdoor textiles through these countries, so you're going to be buying Chinese no matter what.

Nothing stopped US businesses from investing the Central America 30 years ago. Our economy was better off then than it is now.

Create a problem, and then peddle the "solution." You speak as if we have a choice between the two, when in fact, thanks to you guys, we have BOTH.

This is by far and away the most cynically disingenuous statement regarding CAFTA-DR that has been put out to date.

This is the same old tired refrain the import commission weasels have been using for years. It's just another one of the excuses for transferring the US middle class off to some turd wurld country so a multinational can make more money of the remaining people in the US for as long as that lasts and erode US soveriegnty in the process.
