The hurdle here is not getting "internet radio" into the car, its getting the internet into the car. Once the internet is in the car, of course internet radio can be brought in easily.
The issue here, of course, is how does one get a fast enough internet connection into the car in order to be able to listen to an internet radio station, let alone jump back in forth between six stations.
I don't think Sirius and XM have much to worry about.

getting the internet into the car. Once the internet is in the car, of course internet radio can be brought in easily. I think it may have a potential market for GPS navigation system. It would be a useful device for real-time road conditions alternate routes around accidents...etc.
