BAGHDAD, July 27 (KUNA) -- Iraqi police said Wednesday it arrested one of the "dangerous terrorists" in southern Baghdad.

Sayyed Tantawi, an Egyptian, described as a right-hand man for Al-Qaeda second-man in command, Ayman Dhawahri, was captured early today by the Scorpion squad in the Yousifia town, Captain Mothanna Abulhareth, spokesman of the Babel police command, told KUNA.

Abulhareth quoted the squad leader as saying the arrest took place in an ambush in the Qasr area in central Yousifia.

And every time one is captured, within minutes someone is on the thread belittling the good news.

Well, at least we seem to be running out of "top lieutenants" to capture.

These people have more right hands than an octopus - every day they arrest another one

"Wanted" poster for al-Zarqawi.

Which brings up an interesting question...

Since they read from right to left... Shouldn't it be his "left hand man"?

I applaud the good news and see it as another step in winning the war on terrorism.

That said, my first thoughts upon seeing the title of the thread were:

1. how many right hands do these people have
2. I certainly wouldn't accept a promotion in this organization. Right hand man is code word for next to be captured.

But there are also articles quoting this very same dude as saying:

"rejects all attempts on human life and all attacks on civilians."

Very nice. A two-faced terrorist.

Thanks for post. I am not being negative nor critical, as coop mentioned. I agree with coop and most of us, why fault good news. But I could not help but notice the term "executive".
Sounds as if this Ar...ab reporter consideres terrorist scum bags on the level of a company executive. Also, not to be picky, but I believe one should attempt to report things accurately for the readerships sake, the town mentioned is not in southern Iraq. it is some 20 miles SW of Baghdad in the triangle of death area. The town is known to harbor sunni insurgent supporters and transiant leadership. Our Army and Marines have for two years been harvesting Ali Babba from this town and nearby area.

wrong religion though - isn't that Shiva or something?

Yes, that's Shiva. al-Zarqawi would be extremely insulted if he knew. So much the better.

My first thoughts upon seeing this thread were:

1) How long until the first snide "right-hand man" or "lieutenant" joke?
2) How come people tire of reports of hundreds of terrorists captured, but these same people don't seem to tire of hundreds of versions of the same joke?

Executive right-hand man? What, al-Quaeda is now part of the Fortune 500?
