Well, no one thought he could take on Cuomo and he managed that. Maybe he thinks lightning can strike twice. Does he think he could carry New York State?

Right now, I'd say the two biggest names are both from New York(*): Rudy and Hillary. So Pataki is already running third in his home state.

The sad thing is that he will waste millions of dollars chasing an office he has zero chance of winning. Dollars that could be donated to candidates who can actually win.

My guess is he's doing this to have a shot at being the VP candidate on a regionally balanced ticket. Again, he shouldn't waste his time and money 'cause it ain't gonna happen.
